"Until this year, I never was really interested in purchasing an NCAA football game. I was much more of an NFL fan. Therefore, I chose Madden, each year. In addition, I became very disappointed. I previously downloaded NCAA football game, and was not impressed enough to make a purchase. However, this all changed, once I downloaded the NCAA Football 12 demo.

Coach A Game Mode: If you have a familiarity with the EA Sports game, "NFL Coach", you'll like this mode. It just allows you to simulate plays.

Customizations: Of course, players features can be edited. Now, coaches, playbooks, AND college conferences can be edited.

Dynasty Mode: This mode is for players, who have the desire to move up in the coaching ranks. You can start from a defense NCAA football head coach.

Enhanced Tackling System/Realism: That is what sold me to this game, once I played the demo. After playing Madden 11, I got so sick and tired of the motion shifting animations, suction tackles, and tumbleweed tackling. I had enough. On this game, there is none of those issues. Not to mention, the game also introduces a BASIC feature many EA Sports fans have been waiting for.....multi-hit tackles.

The tackles are now based on collision, which means the player has to make physical contact with the ball carrier, in order to make a tackle. No motion shifting, morphing or suction animations on a ball carrier. For example, I have run by defenders, who were within arm's reach of my ball carrier. However, they were not able to make contact with my ball carrier. Therefore, the defender had NO chance to make a tackle. With that being said, POSITION is also important to make a good tackle. Hits never felt so good on a game. The hits are VERY hard because they are momentum based. If your defender does not have the momentum to make a hit, he may just make an arm tackle or he might not be able to make a successful tackle, at all. Once again, good tackle POSITION is key. The multi-hit tackles are great. Each defender, who engages ball carrier, can possibly get involved in a tackle. No more tumbleweed tackles. Sometimes, I have seen four hit tackles.

Speaking of defense, the coverages can be very tight, but fair. You can no longer just throw all over the CPU, outside of the varsity level. You have to make good throws. Defenders may allow you to get away with some tight ones. However, if the defender is near, and you continuously try to sneak one by the defender, he can easily jump your route to defense your pass or make a pick. When or if a defender jumps your route, you'll feel frustrated, but will NOT feel cheated. This is because the morphing and motion shifting is gone. Therefore, choose your throws, wisely!!! Take what the defense gives you!!! Balance your runs and passes, consistently.

The blocking is SUPERB in the game, no matter what level you play on. In fact, I would say the blocking on this game is the best of any EA Sports title on next-gen. Running never felt so good because of this. Unlike previous EA Sports titles, the AI of your players rarely misses an assignment. For example, once a WR sees you are running to the corner, he'll immediately turn around and look for a player to block. The OTs do the same thing. The DL/OL engagements are the realist, ever.

The WRs do not morph or motion shift in order to make a catch. If he could not jump or dive, the pass would sail by him or go over his head. The bottom line is your player has to be in the position to make plays, either offensively or defensively. You combine all of these features and you have some very smooth and realistic gameplay.

ESPN Presentation: This improved feature makes you feel as if you are really a part of a REAL college football game. You'll love to hear Nessler and Herbstreit going back and forth on their commentary during the game. Many times, their comments go right along with what is going on.

Graphics: In my opinion, this game has the best graphics of any EA Sports game to date. The players, uniforms, and surroundings are more vivid and detailed. Not to mention, there is 3-D grass on the field. Keep in mind, the 3-D grass cannot be seen during regular gameplay. This can only be seen on replays. Tube owners need not apply. Only HD owners get the full graphical experience of this game.

Road to Glory Mode: This mode allows the player to play his senior season in high school, prior to going to college. You can make choices, so you can try to get a scholarship. Once you go to college, you will have to earn skill points and coach trust points. These are important in determining your status as a player. You can go from not playing to becoming an All-American.

Team Introductions: This is a cool new presentation for diehard football fans. For example, if you are a University of Colorado fan, prior to the start of the game, you'll be able to see the "Ralphie Run", Uga the Bulldog, and FSU fans can see Chief Osceola ride his horse onto the middle of the field to throw the flaming spear into the turf.

Verdict: This game is very good, especially for the diehard college fans. If you were apprehensive of buying this game because of the animations of previous EA Sports titles, look no more. This game has the realest gameplay of ANY EA Sports title on next-gen."
